Cambridge Travel Guide

Though this charming city is best known for its medieval university, it was a thriving Roman and Saxon centre, long before the first scholars arrived. Beautiful university buildings dominate the town, and the best way to see them is from a punt on the River Cam. While back on terra firma, visits to King’s College Chapel and the Fitzwilliam Museum are among the favourites. During the summer months, Cambridge’s student population is replaced by a staggering number of tourists, and if possible you should try to visit outside this period.
