Snowdonia offers some of Great Britain’s most spectacular scenery, and takes its English name from the highest peak Mt. Snowdon; the Welsh name translates as, 'eagle’s resting place'. Sir John Hunt and his team trained in Snowdonia before they made the first successful ascent of Everest. As well as spectacular passes, and craggy peaks, the area boasts quaint rural villages, riverside walks and waterfalls.
